Job Title: Experienced Diesel Technician
Department: Service Department
Reports To: Service Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Summary: Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs, and maintenance work on a variety of customer and dealer-owned equipment. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Supervisor or Service Manager.
Essential Job Functions:
1) Performs basic diagnostics and communicates what repairs are needed.
2) Performs basic repairs as assigned by the Service Supervisor or Service Manager.
3) Provides detailed documentation of completed repairs and expense labor assignments.
4) Participates in all job-related training and development activities.
5) Maintains current product knowledge of John Deere and other vendor lines carried by the dealership.
6) Supports a safe work environment by maintaining the condition of the shop, inventory, tools, and equipment. Communicates safety hazards with the appropriate level of management.
Other Job Functions:
- Other duties or projects as assigned by Management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems and the ability to apply to assigned repairs.
- Ability to provide clear and detailed written comments for all work orders assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends as workflow dictates.
