Job Summary
The Small Engine Mechanic is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of a variety of types of Powersports equipment however the primary focus will be on the Honda product line. Additional job responsibilities are outlined below.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ability to diagnose equipment utilizing diagnostic software and/or online technical manualsPerform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair processSafely operate all equipment the dealership sells and services (ATVs, Motorcycles, Side x sides, etc.)Resolve electrical and mechanical issuesHelp the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages.Communicate repairs with customers so they have an understanding of the work being done
Position Qualifications
2+ years of experience with Small Engine Mechanics (Powersports experience strongly preferred)High School Degree required 2-year technical degree within mechanics field preferredMust currently have or be willing to obtain a valid motorcycle licenseCandidate must have or be willing to obtain BMW and Polaris certificationsOwnership of necessary toolsElectronic diagnostic abilityAbility to perform all tasks without supervisionAbility to lift at least 75 lbdAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manualsAbility to use a computer and various types of diagnostic equipment
