Position Specifics:

Department: Service

Reports to: Service Manager or Location Manager

Supervises: None


Purpose:


Performs mobile pre-delivery inspections and on-site equipment diagnostics, service repair, and maintenance work in line with the turf service programs. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager or Location Manager.


Responsibilities:

  • Performs a high level of on-site service on all makes of Turf equipment
  • Actively promotes and sells dealership specific mobile service programs directly to customers
  • Coordinates with Service Manager or Location Manager to establish and implement effective processes for all Turf services offered through dealership specific service programs
  • Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair, or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work order
  • Establishes and implements effective stocking processes with the Parts department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicle
  • Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintains condition of mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools, and equipment
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties
  • May support and promote the Ready To Mow program
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned by your manager


Requirements

Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • 1+ years of experience performing service repairs
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of turf equipment
  • Proficient knowledge of selling techniques
  • Ability to use Service Advisor, Microsoft Office applications, and basic computer functions
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly
  • Basic Service Technician certification preferred
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associates degree preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL (Commercial Drivers License), forklift license preferred
