Position Specifics: Department: Parts Reports to: General Manager Supervises: None Job Status: Exempt Purpose: Manage all division parts inventories and is responsible for establishing and administering parts policies and procedures that are consistent across the division. Responsible for determining stocking levels, pricing, and merchandising assortments. Oversees the strategic parts operation plans for the division to maximize return on investment through parts sales growth and effective management of inventories.

Essential Functions: • Manages inventory to achieve defined financial and performance goals • Collaborates with Product Support Manager in setting objectives and ordering plans to support the marketing plan of the dealership • Maximizes use of all appropriate order discount programs • Maintains order cost and carrying charge calculations reflecting current market and economic conditions • Utilizes the surplus return programs to effectively manage inventory and obsolescence • Audits the performance of the department regarding inventory control on a monthly basis • Works with the Product Support Manager to develop, maintain and manage the execution of the Parts Strategic Business Plan for the organization • Monitors individual and overall Parts Department performance relative to parts sales, inventory management and expense control in line with the organization’s objectives • Develops, communicates, and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction as well as Parts Department efficiencies • Understands and ensures adherence to company and customer data policies Actively manage inventory cycle counts, investigate and approve any required adjustments and make any policy/procedure recommendations to correct future inventory corrections Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge: • 3-5 years’ experience in Parts Department operations • Solid analytical skills • Proficiency in using standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office, internet functions, Deere systems and dealer business systems • Extensive knowledge of parts inventory management principles • Understanding of financial management as it relates to parts • Ability and willingness to work extended hours and weekends on as needed basis • Associates degree or equivalent experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred • Familiar with John Deere, competitive and allied products Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
