We have an opening for a Credit & Collections Manager at our branch in Atlanta, GA. The Credit & Collections Manager position is responsible for overseeing the Flint Construction & Forestry credit processes and evaluating current and potential customers for creditworthiness for lending purposes. The position is to ensure that existing customers are in good standing by conducting ongoing reviews of customer creditworthiness and open receivable balances and implementing actions to ensure timely collections of internal balances owed.  The position is expected to build and maintain relationships with credit reporting agencies, insurance providers, and credit facilities as well as maintain ongoing internal relationships with the Flint Sales, Parts, and Service department personnel.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties (other duties may be assigned):

• Evaluate current and potential customers’ creditworthiness


• Assign and monitor credit limits and approval of credit for in-house and Deere Power Plan accounts thru Equifax or other reporting agencies


• Responsible for accounts receivable aging and collection as well as making recommendations to Senior team for legal actions


• Pursue and maintain legal actions and cases related to Flint’s credit and collection efforts


• Coordinate between Dealer Management and John Deere Financial on troubled accounts to bring resolution


• Work in conjunction with Departmental Managers to identify and address training needs of individuals and the organization overall


• Maintain detailed records of company equipment notes receivable


• Set internal loan interest rates, negotiate loan terms with customers, and monitor customers’ loan payments 


• Review and update the company’s credit policy when necessary 


• Create a credit scoring model to assess risks


• Understand and ensure adherence to company and customer data policies


• Understand local collection laws and practices

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

• 3+ years experience in Finance/Credit management


• Understanding of the integrated systems of internal control


• Understanding of loans and lending procedures


• Familiarity with Construction & Forestry equipment and related practices


• Familiarity with John Deere, competitive and allied products preferred


• Ability to coach sales professionals on credit-related sales processes


• Associates Degree in business or accounting required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred


• Proficiency in using standard computer applications such as Microsoft Office, internet functions, John Deere systems and dealer business systems


• Strong negotiation skills 


• Ability to work under pressure 


• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail 


• Advanced mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills


• Solid interpersonal skills
