AgriVision Equipment Group, one of the top John Deere dealers in North America, seeks a progressive, highly motivated, and innovative Ag Technology professional to work with our team to research, build, launch and train innovative products and services to support evolving customer technology needs. As a product development professional, you will work closely with customers and employees to define service packages including value propositions, business plans, management processes and logistics and marketing strategies. The Strategic Product Development Specialist is expected to be one of the Company’s most knowledgeable technology resources and industry innovation experts - and will help lead strategic technology development for the AgriVision Equipment team.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Work directly with key customers and their data to understand technology value
  • Identifies technologies and tools that should be developed and spread across the AVE platform
  • Defines and implements marketable revenue streams and internal processes that support profitable proliferation of new technologies to our customer base
  • Defines marketing strategies demonstrating the value proposition which will drive the implementation of these new technologies
  • Develops and delivers customer and employee training for VAS, advanced precision farming products, and ensure understanding of Precision Ag and precision farming products across all departments
  • Develop and execute plans to ensure ongoing Precision Ag mainstreaming across all departments
  • Creates training solutions including educational videos, blogs, testimonials, calculators, and instruction manuals to pro-actively support adoption of new technologies
  • Leads in the development of clinics and field demonstrations for customers
  • Presents programs and engages employees and customers
  • Maintains cutting edge product knowledge on all new/used equipment potentially saleable by the dealership, including features/benefits and machine compatibility/ technology integration.
  • Exhibits outstanding communication skills and cooperates with other departments and locations
  • Promotes teamwork, maintains a positive attitude and supports the concept of one face to our customers.
  • Works closely with all departments and customers within responsible area to support and sell all value-added technology solutions products and services
  • Encourages the adoption of new technology and product offerings to customers.
  • Supports dealership efforts with all third-party providers (Ag Service Providers, etc.) and related John Deere businesses

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3-6 years of experience in an agricultural-related role with activities such as sales, service, training, or other related work. Prior experience with JD technology and support is preferred.
  • 4 Year degree in business, management, or agricultural-related major.
  • Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) certification and/or advanced agronomic understanding is preferred but not required. Dealership will support the work to attain certification
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted
  • Can quickly build relationships and establish credibility with customers, sales and support personnel.
  • Highly adaptable - Able to respond to new challenges and opportunities and deal with changing and multiple priorities
  • Solid communication skills - Can present engaging and effective programs and address and resolve customer and employee objections
  • Strong task management skills – Able to multitask and meet short/changing deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Strong data management abilities and computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint (or similar tools) and ability to analyze and interpret data and reports
  • Has the ability to achieve goals through influence and collaboration.
  • Demonstrates analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Ability to work outside 50% of the time in all weather conditions.
