Van Wall is proud to sell and service a wide range of John Deere equipment.

Job Description

Van Wall Equipment is looking for a Small Engine Mechanic at our Indianola Powersports location. The Small Engine Mechanic is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of a variety of types of powersports equipment however the primary focus will be on BMW and Polaris brands. Additional job responsibilities are outlined below.

-Ability to diagnose equipment utilizing diagnostic software and/or online technical manuals

  • Perform component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning as part of the repair process
  • Safely operate all equipment the dealership sells and services (ATVs, Motorcycles, Side x sides, etc.)
  • Resolve electrical and mechanical issues
  • Help the dealership by participating in special programs, such as sales of service packages.
  • Communicate repairs with customers so they have an understanding of the work being done.

    Job Requirements

  • 2+ years experience with Small Engine Mechanics (powersports experience strongly preferred)
  • High School Degree required. 2 year technical degree within mechanics field preferred
  • Must currently have or be willing to obtain a valid motorcycle license
  • Candidate must have or be willing to obtain BMW and Polaris certifications
  • Ownership of necessary tools
  • Electronic diagnostic ability
  • Ability to perform all tasks without supervision.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to use computer and various types of diagnostic equipment.
