Purpose
Independently performs complex diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment.
Responsibilities
Performs diagnostics and repairs on John Deere equipment and technology and other brand equipment
Performs diagnostics and repairs in the field as required
Accountable for billable time and assigned work orders
Responsible for complete and thorough documentation of diagnostics and repairs performed on work orders and on time submittal of information
Completes training required for the development of skills and knowledge
Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities
Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
Works cooperatively in a team environment
Demonstrates a good work ethic
Employs good time management skills and the ability to work independently
Exhibits a constant commitment to customer service
Communicates effectively one-on-one and in groups
Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with peers and management
Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
1+ years experience performing service repairs or technical college degree or certification preferred
Demonstrated experience consistently meeting performance metrics preferred
Experience performing repairs and maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures on machines of the technician’s specialty
Experience with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in agriculture, off road, construction, turf or heavy equipment
Experience operating vehicles, tools and equipment for diagnostic purposes
Able to lift, bend and carry
Experience with basic computer functions
Experience using Service ADVISOR™ or other computer based diagnostic repair tools preferred
Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record required
CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) preferred
