The Service Manager will oversee and lead the Service Department through keeping culture, employee development and customer satisfaction as the highest priorities. 

 As a Service Manager, you will:

  • Manage recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for all Service Department employees
  • Create annual Service Department goals and budget in alignment with the Store Manager’s financial and operational objectives for the location
  • Develop and execute Service Department marketing plan and monitor to ensure achievement of departmental goals
  • Direct the team to coordinate customer clinics, field days, and related promotional events
  • Oversee all service warranty and Product Improvement Program claims within the required timeframe to receive maximum credit
  • Schedule and assign jobs to employees according to their skills and knowledge
  • Ensure staff reviews work orders for completeness and accuracy prior to customer billing
  • Ensure all departmental tools, equipment, and vehicles are in good working order
  • Develop, communicate, enforce and monitor effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction

 Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in Service Department operations - preferably John Deere
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Must be familiar with John Deere and competitive products
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience; Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
