Job Description

Purpose:
Performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on rental equipment.  May require some direction or guidance form the Rental Manager, Shop Forman or Senior Technicians.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs basic diagnostics, repairs, and service on Rental equipment.
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment.
  • Efficiently cleans and refurbishes new and used Rental equipment, to include the exterior and interior of the equipment. Takes the utmost care in producing a professional finished product.
  • May assist in unloading trucks and reporting damages or shortages in shipment.
  • May provide backup assistance in lot maintenance and moving equipment for the Rental department.
  • Maintains a clean work area and follows all safety practices of the organization when completing work assignments.
  • Maintains company vehicles, inventory, and tools in proper working condition.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or the equivalent.
  • One (1) years’ experience performing service repairs on a variety of equipment.
  • Basic Service/Mechanical certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in detailing and refurbishing equipment.
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures.
  • Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Mechanical inclined and able to operate varying equipment.
  • Valid drivers’ license is required.
  • Forklift license preferred.
  • Ability to use basic computer functions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute to a positive working environment.


Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift items weighing at least 75 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, stand, reach, and grip.
  • Ability to work in varying elements of weather.
  • Ability to stand on concrete for long periods of time.
