Job Description


The Senior Accountant will be responsible for management of the day to day accounting processes. The position will provide leadership to a team of Staff Accountant and Accounting Clerks ensuring compliance with the company’s policies.


  • Actively involved in the month end closing and financial reporting process including producing accurate and timely financial statements
  • Manages the day to day cash accounting process including bank reconciliations
  • Reconciles various accounts which includes identifying discrepancies and determining corrective action, as well as the root cause and process to prevent future discrepancies
  • Provides financial analyses as needed
  • Preparation of property and local tax returns
  • Research, analyze and resolves complex accounting issues
  • Prepare and update a variety of databases and reports
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting as needed
  • Develops and maintain Key Performance Indicator’s and metrics related to the Accounting process
  • Provides leadership to Accounting staff including coaching & performance managementParticipates in coordinating the provision of information to internal and external auditors
  • Supports management in the pursuit of corporate policies, plans, goals, and long-term objectives.

Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (preferred) or related (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
  • 3-5 years management/supervisory experience.
  • High level of ethical standards and professionalism.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Organization skills and the ability to multitask projects in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with other employees in various locations.
  • Committed to continuous process improvements.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Strong mathematical skills are essential.
  • Understands accounting fundamentals such as debits and credits
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
  • Ability to use various computer programs specific to the position.

  • The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
