Job Description

This position is responsible for developing and growing our market for West Side’s product lines within the assigned territory.

Job Duties:

•         Represent West Side Tractor Sales for the sale of machinery and attachments to customers in a defined sales area


•         Maintain a high level of product and product application knowledge


•         Maintain current knowledge of machine technology and telematics


•         Develop and implement a strategy to achieve sales growth and targets


•         Assess and define customer applications so the correct product can be presented


•         Monitor competitive activity/products and communicate timely to management in customer relationships management system


•         Know and follow a defined sales process


•         Conduct new equipment field demonstrations


•         Monitor trends in customer’s business activities


•         Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods


•         Attend applicable sales training events/seminars


•         Maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes


•         Coordinate customer appreciation events


•         Ensure superior customer product support by working closely between the customer and West Side Tractor Sales Parts and Service Managers


•         Prepare and adhere to all reporting requirements through John Deere and/or West Side including lost sales and transaction pricing information


•         Participates in West Side’s Safety Program


•         Completes training assigned by manager


•         Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

•         Excellent customer relationship skills


•         5+ years of sales experience


•         Knowledge of heavy equipment and operational practices required


•         Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Internet and Customer Relationship Management Tools


•         Ability to travel within assigned territory and work flexible hours


•         Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record based upon company policy


•         Ability to create, analyze and interpret basic sales reports



Assigned counties for this position may include Marshall, Elkhart, Lagrange, Cass, St. Joseph, and Kosciusko.
