Sales Representative - Irrigation in Clinton, NC at Quality Equipment

Job Description

PURPOSEThis position is responsible for interacting with agricultural customers in various areas of center-pivot irrigation systems, pumps and reels.  This includes working with growers in the planning, design, and installation phases of new center pivot irrigation systems.  The Sales Representative is responsible for overall sales activities and will interact with customers, irrigation contractors, manufacturers’ representatives, and other dealership personnel. The Sales Representative will work closely with the Irrigation Technician(s) to perform ongoing maintenance and support of existing pivot irrigation systems.  Our goal is to enhance productivity for our agricultural customers by fully utilizing new technology available through Zimmatic Irrigation and other manufacturers.  
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES•    Sell center pivot irrigation systems, pumps and reels to customers in a defined sales area.•    Maintain current product knowledge of Zimmatic pivot irrigation systems and competitive manufacturer systems.•    Collect and maintain customer information in assigned area of responsibility.•    Interact with outside parties in the erection and installation of new center pivot systems (well drillers, erection crews, governmental agencies for permits, etc.)•    Meets sales goals for irrigation products. •    Work closely with Irrigation technician(s) and parts staff while implementing new technology and product offerings with large scale Agricultural customers.•    Maintain current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing purchase of new irrigation systems.•    Willingness to make sales calls and develop long-term relationships with customers in the area.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS•    Associates or Bachelors’ degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Business, Agriculture Mechanization, or an engineering related field.•    Agriculture background•    2+ years’ experience in irrigation, production agriculture or precision farming products preferred.•    Good computer skills (training will be provided on specific software used for design of pivot systems)•    Demonstrates leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.•    Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group.•    Ability to work flexible hours and travel to customer locations as needed (Central and Southeastern NC).•    Understanding of local agronomic practices in row-crop production agriculture•    Positive attitude, honesty, and good work ethic
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:•    Noise levels: Medium to high.•    Weight requirements: Lifting up to 75 lbs.•    Mobility: Squatting, bending, climbing, lifting, reaching, twisting, standing and sitting for long durations of time.•    Visual: Working with a personal computer, manuals and close detailed work.•    Driving: Daily; short and long distances.•    Work environment: Exposure to extreme weather, fumes, airborne particles and moving mechanical parts. •    Dexterity: Ability to grasp and manipulate parts and tools.
