The history of James River Equipment dates back to 1926 when Rudolph Romer opened his first John Deere Dealership in Holly, Colorado.   In 1977, the Romers made the decision to expand eastward and purchased four construction and forestry dealerships in Virginia which were combined to form James River Equipment.  Since 2001, James River Equipment has added on average one new location and one new partner per year.  The mission of James River Equipment is to provide values to our customers, do it profitably and ethically, do it for the long term and have fun while doing it!  Integrity, loyalty and honesty are at the heart of every James River Equipment business.

James River Equipment is currently seeking a Rental Coordinator for our Ashland location. Inspects equipment prior to delivery and arranges transportation of equipment if necessary

Receives in new and used equipment and gets equipment ready for customer rental

Upon return of equipment, inspects equipment and ensures timely delivery of receiving and inspection reports and rental adjustments, if necessary. Finalizes the fuel billings

Receive and handle incoming calls related to equipment inventory and customer requests. Handles all customer questions, requests, complaints, & needs in a positive, timely manner

Utilizes Point of Rental System to initiate contracts, send out reservations, check equipment availability, maintain customer records, maintain equipment inventory records, and track missed rentals

Dispatches company trucks to insure customers receive rental equipment timely

Monitors equipment daily to insure inventory accuracy and to make sure equipment is ready for next rental

Manages daily inventory sales & keeps accurate information in the Point of Rental System

Generates various customer, reservation, and inventory reports or updated dashboards as necessary

Manages off rents to insure accuracy in the rental process and to make sure they are ready for next customer

Invoices rentals, damage charges, and demos

Performs all required steps to accurately and efficiently process rentals and invoices

Maintains records on all rental equipment that is transferred or sold out of the Rental Fleet

Understands and applies the applicable taxes to invoices

Receives and reviews shipping and receiving documents from the branches for accuracy and completeness

Coordinates shipping and receiving of the machines with the yard personnel

Completes rental transactions through direct contact with customers

Assists walk-in customers with information on the availability, job performance, and options of
 equipment in the rental fleet

Quotes rates and assists customers in making decisions on best equipment option

Assists the customer in financial, service, and rental issues relating to invoicing or account information

Assists customers in locating and choosing the correct machine for their job and application
