Precision Ag Specialist

Duties:
  • Work with Director of Precision Ag to develop and execute precision agriculture technology marketing plan.
  • Sell and support precision ag technology hardware solutions and precision ag service packages to customers.
  • Address customer satisfaction issues with sense of urgency, thoroughness and professionalism.
  • Provide consultation to Ag Sales with quoting factory installed precision ag technology in large ag equipment.
  • Provide guidance to the organization relevant to John Deere precision ag technology and serve as the internal and external technical specialist for all precision ag technology solutions.
  • Keep current on John Deere precision ag technology product offerings, attending training as required.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for dealership personnel and customers at clinics or other dealership or branch events. 
  • Ownership of precision ag inventory, working with branches on inventory requests. 
  • Assist in transferring customer precision ag data and equipment to newly purchased machines both new and used.  Remove customer data from used equipment before resold.
  • Ensure uptime of Koenig RTK network 24/7 during planting and harvest season. 
  • Work with regional John Deere solution specialist.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A 4-year degree with an Agricultural/AMS related major or equivalent experience required.
  • Certified Crop Advisor certification or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of GPS systems, both guidance and yield monitoring; product specific experience preferred.
  • Self-starter with excellent time management skills. Ability to work independently or side by side with a service technician or sales representative.
  • Ability to operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer needs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to store locations and customers.
  • Ability to use computers for troubleshooting and updating systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook for communications and training.
  • Excellent customer relation skills.
  • Working knowledge in agricultural related sales, service or other related work.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver on equipment.
