Job Description

To fulfill Pattison Agricultures’ vision of GROWING, CONNECTING AND EVOLVING we are looking for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our fast-paced and energetic dealerships. The successful candidate will work out of any of our 18 locations and will be analytical, resourceful and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.  You will have experience with automated payroll processing systems (preferably Ceridian Dayforce) and have superior organizational and time management skills to successfully manage a high volume of work within tight deadlines.

 

Responsibilities

This individual’s responsibilities include:

  • Assembles information to efficiently complete payroll processing using Ceridian Dayforce’s information system.  This includes, but is not limited to, new hire commencements, salary adjustments, changes to employment, and terminations
  • Processes payouts related to bonus and commission or incentive programs
  • Processing annual T4’s
  • WCB Reporting
  • Ensure payroll compliance by following provincial and federal legislation, regulations and policies (good working knowledge of Labour Standards)
  • Good understanding of accounting fundamentals
  • Maintain confidential information by adhering to legal and ethical standards
  • Facilitates new hire orientation and assists staff in signing up for pension and benefits when required

 

Requirements

This would be an ideal position for you if you have:

  • 2 + years experience in payroll processing
  • A degree or diploma in an Accounting/Finance/Payroll discipline preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of payroll programs and payroll contractual language
  • Understanding of accounting fundamentals such as debits, credits, accounts receivable, accounts payable and budgets
  • Understanding of minimum wage laws, confidentiality policies, employee notification requirements, and other regulatory policies.
  • The ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office plus internet functions; proficient in Excel, with an ability to learn and adapt in our dealership specific systems
