If you answered yes to these questions, we want to hear from you! Pape Machinery, the premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is adding to their Parts team in Newark, CA.

In the Partsman Trainee role, you will learn to respond to customer needs for parts in person or by telephone at the branch. Every day you will learn how to determine customer parts needs through the use of literature, computer programs, and parts knowledge, and how to recommend parts or services to the customer. To thrive in this role, you must be coachable, motivated, and enjoy building relationships with current and potential customers.


  • Build and maintain knowledge of products, services, and parts and the associated costs of each.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork on each transaction in an accurate timely manner.
  • Respond to customers in person or by telephone whenever required and provide quotes or estimates for parts.
  • Process credits, make adjustments and monitor for restocking charges on all parts sales completed.
  • Operate a forklift to handle pallets of product. (Forklift training is available)


  • Self-motivated, winning attitude, and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast pace and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person, in an effort to sell company parts and other services.
  • Above-average organizational skills.
  • Good computer skills, including basic familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and various search engines.
  • Parts experience preferred.

Starting Compensation: $19.50-$31.85/hr (Depending on Experience)
