Job Description

Department: Parts

Reports to: Store Manager

Supervises: Location Parts Staff

Purpose:

Motivates and inspires the parts team to sell to both external and internal customers. Coordinates the parts operations and staff at the location level to provide the highest level of external and internal customer satisfaction while maximizing return on investment through parts sales, inventory control, and expense control. Optimizes parts department processes. Effectively develops, engages and retains parts department personnel.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops, communicates, enforces and monitors effective Parts Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Coordinates staffing and employee development activities for employees reporting to this position
  • Supports and drives actions that will help achieve the annual Parts Department goals and budget.
  • Develops and executes Parts Department marketing plans and monitors monthly to ensure achievement of location departmental goals
  • Maintains an accurate and effective parts inventory control system that includes a perpetual and/or annual physical inventory and proper counter procedures
  • Promotes and merchandises parts, attachments and accessories in conjunction with other store locations
  • Submits all parts warranty, core returns and damage claims within the required time frame to receive maximum credit
  • Maximizes use of all order discount programs to achieve management stock order goals
  • Ensures all department tools, equipment and storage areas are in good working order and organized.

Qualifications:

  • 1-year experience in Parts Department operations (minimum)
  • Experience and proven success in building and leading teams
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications and internet functions
  • Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Parts Department operations
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • 2-year degree with business emphasis preferred
