Job Summary
The Motorcycle Technician is responsible for the diagnosis, repair, and scheduled maintenance of Motorcycles and a variety of other related equipment. The Technician will take direction from the Service Manager. All work shall be completed in a safe, professional and timely manner. The technician must be able to diagnose, using the appropriate technical manual procedures and/or online computer manuals and special tools. Additionally, the technician must be able to perform complete component removal, disassembly, and reconditioning. The technician must also be able to safely operate all machines marketed by the dealership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignmentsPerform diagnosis and repair of equipment as requiredDemonstrate skills to other technicians as requiredPerform reconditioning and repair of all machine systems and componentsPrepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with job assignment.Report work required on equipment to the Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by the customerParticipate in all training programs as directed by the Service ManagerMaintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashionBring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools, equipment or vehicle that is not in a -serviceable condition or is unsafe to use
Position Qualifications
High School Degree or equivalentAssociates Degree in a technician program preferred2+ years of experience with motorcycle repair (preferably Indian or Harley Davidson)Ownership of necessary toolsAbility to lift 50 lbs repeatedly Valid driver’s license requiredMust have or be willing to obtain a valid motorcycle license within 60 days of starting
