Job Description

This position covers the Northern Virginia territory.

Performs on-site equipment diagnostics, service repair and maintenance work in line with the turf service programs.   May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, or Shop Foreman.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Performs a high level of on-site service on all makes of Golf &  Turf equipment.
  • Coordinates with Service Manager or Service Location Manager to establish and implement effective processes for all Turf services offered through dealership specific service programs.
  • Reviews and explains any maintenance, repair or other service concerns directly with the customer and documents on work order.
  • Establishes and implements effective stocking processes with the Parts department to maintain the proper seasonal parts inventory in the vehicle.
  • Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products.
  • Maintains condition of mobile service vehicle, trailer, inventory, tools and equipment.
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Assists in-house on an as-needed basis.
  • Accounts for all time and material used in performing assigned duties.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Service Manager.


  • High School Diploma and four (4)+ years of experience performing service repairs. 
  • Advanced or Master Service Technician certification preferred
  • Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to perform complex repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manual procedures.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems used in the repair of gold and turf equipment.
  • Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift items weighing 75lbs
  • Ability to stand, stoop or kneel for long periods of time
  • Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at waist.
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor temperatures
  • Ability to safely operate a vehicle


  • Acceptable driving record, in line with the stated Company Policy, and valid driver’s license in the state in which they are employed with Finch Services, Inc.
  • DOT medical card required.
