PAPÉ MATERIAL HANDLING, INC. – FRESNO, CA

MOBILE DIESEL & EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN: Position will diagnose and repair various brands of terminal tractors specializing in Kalmar Ottawa. Additional duties will include general diagnosis and repair of Hyster and other material handling and compact construction equipment at customer locations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Analyze and diagnose (troubleshoot) equipment malfunctions or failures.
  • Repair, replace or rebuild engines, transmissions, carburetors, final drives, steering, clutches, cross shafts, hydraulic components, electrical systems and air systems.
  • General maintenance of various types of equipment.
  • Perform D.O.T. inspections in accordance with federal requirements.
  • Maintain driving record in accordance with state laws and in a courteous, safe manner.
  • Determine correct parts needs to complete task and order in a timely manner from the Parts Department, as well as, returning all unused parts in a timely manner.
  • Communicate in a courteous and effective manner with customers regarding all aspects of the work being performed.
  • Communicate with management regarding all aspects of the work being performed for the customer.

Looking for Technicians with 2 plus years’ experience working on Heavy Duty trucks. Terminal Tractor experience a plus. Applicant must be experienced and efficient in electronic trouble shooting, air conditioning, chassis, electrical, and major engine repairs. Experience with Cummins engines as well as knowledge of after treatment systems is a plus. Additional experience in material handling and compact construction equipment preferred.

Must have a CDL or the ability to obtain one as well as a good driving record. Looking for someone that wants to work in a fast paced team oriented environment. Must have good communication skills, both written and oral and possess a strong attention to detail. Must be assertive, computer literate, a self-starter, and able to work without direct supervision.  Applicant must have own tools.
