Summary

The Marketing Director will be responsible for directing marketing efforts and collaborating with all Murphy Tractor & Equipment branches to provide marketing strategies and programs to promote Murphy Tractor & Equipment’s brand vision effectively.  This position will ensure that all marketing initiatives are aligned with the goals and vision of Murphy Tractor & Equipment Company.  



 

Essential Functions

    • Responsible for promotional and advertising efforts with major manufacturers while remaining compliant and cooperative with all given standards

    • Manage and execute the design and implementation of marketing strategies 

    • Manage company relationships with external marketing agencies to leverage their resources. 

    • Develop and implement the execution of all content marketing strategies including: all digital advertising, social media, SEO and SEM, internal and external email marketing, internal and external company website development, podcasts, print, and direct mail.

    • Coordinate and organize customer and internal events and tradeshow participation.

    • Actively communicate with major manufacturers to coordinate marketing messages and leverage their resources for the company.

    • Responsible for the implementation and continued development of Customer Relationship Management database (CRM).  System is installed and in use.

    • Conduct market research initiatives along with analysis of consumer trends and competitors’ marketing initiatives.

    • Responsible for directing the training and performance of marketing staff and overseeing their daily tasks and activities.

    • Responsible for managing and developing a department budget.

    • Work closely with product sales and service management teams to define needed marketing materials & programs.

    • Manage all internal and external public relations content.

    • Participate in John Deere Marketing Communications Dealer Advisory Committee.



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent computer skills including MS Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of web analytics required
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign preferred
  • Complete training on CRM and internal business systems. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure. 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a diverse group of customers, employees, and vendors 
  • Organize ideas clearly.

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs. Must be willing to travel up to 30%. 



 

Education/Work Experience

Bachelor’s Degree, with a focus in Marketing, Business, or Communication is required. Five to 10 years related experience preferred. Strong understanding of construction and/or heavy equipment preferred.
