 Job Title: Marketing Coordinator

Reports To: Marketing Manager

Department: Sales, Exempt

Location: Ladson

Summary of Primary Functions:This individual will help manage the overall marketing strategy of those products and services represented by Dobbs Equipment and lead the advertising and event strategy for the company within the assigned geographic area. The Marketing Coordinator works closely with the brands we represent and internal customers to support the ongoing development and execution of the company’s promotional strategies to achieve business plan goals. This position coordinates projects focused on growing market share, driving revenue/growth, enhancing customer relationships, understanding marketing trends, advertising the Dobbs brand, attending, and working trade association events and product expos, community, and public relations, merchandising and various special projects. It is critical that this role provides cross functional direction, training, and motivation of department personnel. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The primary focus of this role will be the state of South Carolina. (Other duties may be assigned) 


Marketing and Advertising

  • Work closely with sales, product support and other teams to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies, including awareness, lead generation and retention campaigns, account-based marketing, new product launches, plus digital and public relations initiatives
  • Work closely with Marketing Analyst (CRM) on targeted customer lists, campaign analytics and lead generation.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with marketing team and advertising agencies the creation and updating of sales support, lead generation and awareness materials such as social and digital ads, brochures, eNewsletters, presentations, and lead generation tools. Ensure key, strategic messages are communicated effectively to target audiences
  • Help develop lead generation and sales support campaigns to drive cross-sell opportunities and new customer acquisition
  • Assist in monitoring, review and report on all marketing activity and results including ROI and established KPIs and make recommendations on campaign enhancements. Develop and own monthly marketing metrics dashboard
  • Manage marketing budgets, including annual planning
  • Execute strategy and manage the promotional calendars and co-operative funded campaigns for our key brands
  • Help execute customer and Dobbs Equipment events (schedule events, arrange customer flights and accommodations, etc.)
  • Create marketing campaign collaterals and internal marketing material as needed 
Sponsorship Event Planning Efforts

  • Manage and execute trade association events and other trade shows which at times require overnight stays
  • Facilitate sponsorship opportunities at industry events and related opportunities
  • Leads execution of activities to support event strategy 
  • Manages and maintain all standards, policies and procedures for event planning
  • Develops working relationships with local trade associations to enhance the event experience
  • Leads event management meetings
  • Consult with customers to determine objectives and requirements for events such as meetings, activities, sponsorships
  • Works with team members to review scheduled events and troubleshoot potential challenges/conflicts
  • Manages budgets to maximize trade association event opportunities
  • Works with complex or high-profile customers

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Individual must be proficient in cross functional leadership, customer focused, analytical and comfortable communicating with customers.
  • Strong desire to learn along with professional drive
  • Solid understanding of different marketing techniques 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills         
Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum 1+ years marketing experience
  • Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Advertising, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • Must have competence in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and quickly adapt to new software systems.  CRM experience desired.
  • Highly desired Adobe Creative Suite experience and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics and Google Adwords)  
  • Must have a great deal of flexibility to handle the changing work environment
  • Must be mature, team orientated and possess a positive attitude
  • Must have good interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Must proactively determine customer needs and exceed their expectations 
  • Must adhere to ethical principles, has sound character and honesty
  • The ideal candidate has an analytical bias, strong Excel skills and is comfortable working with data.
  • Ideally has knowledge of construction equipment dealer business practices, ideally including the practices followed at John Deere dealerships, is preferred.

 Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
