Job Description


The Marketing Associate is responsible for assisting the Marketing Director in supporting all aspects of Company branding efforts.

The Marketing Associate is responsible for leadership and execution of projects related to the brand’s communications and marketing plans as defined by the Marketing Director. This role interacts with various agency partners in support of communications strategy, planning and implementation. This role supports a brand’s communication and innovation activities by collaborating with sales, branch operations, product specialists and other teams.

Essential Functions

  • Administrative
    • Obtain pre-approval for advertising and event coop and complete required forms and documentation to submit for reimbursement.  Reconcile monthly coop statement based on reimbursement received.
    • Maintain trade association and magazine listings of MTEC locations.  
    • Update event listing on outlook calendar and internal website.  
    • Schedule group travel arrangements such as booking airline reservations, rental cars, charter busses, restaurant reservations, and obtain hotel confirmations.  

  • Marketing
    • Assist in event planning including open houses, trade shows and factory tours.   Event tasks include communicating info to appropriate staff, submitting registration forms, contracting rental, hotel, catering and exhibit space agreements, submitting check request.
    • Coordinate all aspects of social media and direct mail communication, including information gathering, graphic art development, and proof-reading, obtain printing price quotes, export and prepare mailing list from database.  
    • Obtain information from vendors and staff to create internal and external website communications, social media communications, and e-newsletter communications.  Post marketing campaigns to websites and promote internally.  
    • Develop, proof-read and distribute press releases to media.
    • Download advertising templates with logo, add appropriate location listing, website.  
    • Coordinate promotional item orders and distribute items to branches.  Task may include obtaining price quotes from vendors, approval of logo artwork to promotional item, packaging and shipping items to store locations.  

Other Functions

  • Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the frame work of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, Inc.’s objectives.


  • Excellent computer skills including MS Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe and Photoshop.
  • Meets commitments and deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate with team members, vendors and other company employees to understand the needs of the marketing department.
  • Completes required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.


Education/Work Experience

Four year degree from a college or school or at least two years related experience and/or training preferred.
