This position has the potential to be based out of any of Murphy Tractor's main locations within Ohio and Pennsylvania. 




Summary

The Major Account Manager is responsible for improving/maintaining relationships with major accounts (Deere, CBD and Murphy Signature customers), provide exceptional customer service by streamlining communication between the Regional Manager, Vice President of Sales, Branch Managers and Sales staff, networking, generating additional sales and being a focal point for growing Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc.’s major account business.



 

Essential Functions

  • Assist with building and improving Murphy Tractor relationships with major accounts (Deere, CBD and Murphy Signature customers).
  • Serve as the single point of contact to streamline internal communication between branches when major customer accounts cross over branch territories.
  • Work with Branch sales staff to conduct product presentations and demonstrations to potential customers.
  • Update the Regional Manager weekly on business activities.
  • Develop regular communications with customers and Branch staff to grow business.
  • Assist Branch sales staff in order to help increase sales with major account customers.
  • Visit customer locations with Branch sales staff to develop sales and generate additional business.
  • Network with potential and existing major account customers at factory tours and trade association events.
  • Be a focal point for growing Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc. with major account customers.
  • Develop and maintain lines of communication between branches and all departments to ensure that Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc.’s customer’s needs are met efficiently.
  • Work with Branch and Regional Management to develop strategies for all departments to increase major account customer sales.



Other Functions

  • Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the frame work of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, Inc.’s objectives.

Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

Able to do occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.  Able to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.  Able to travel out of office 90% of work day including overnight stays. Must be willing to travel within Ohio and SW Pennsylvania. 



 

Education/Work Experience

  • College degree preferred, with undergraduate coursework in business, marketing, finance or related field.  
  • Five years to ten years of Heavy Equipment sales experience or equivalent experience preferred or any equivalent combination of education, experience, skills and abilities that enable the individual to perform the primary duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated success in sales to, or employment with, large construction companies involved in earthmoving, roadbuilding, and aggregate/quarry operations.
  • Must have a valid driver license without restrictions.
