Job Description

Responsible for monitoring, distributing, and tracking all things related to equipment telematics, Expert Alerts and JDLink™ Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) with the intent of quickly diagnosing equipment problems to minimize machine downtime. 

You’ll focus on: 

  • Monitor incoming Expert Alerts and distribute to appropriate party for customer contact (or perform customer contact)
  • Monitor incoming Diagnostic Trouble Codes and distribute to appropriate party
  • Perform remote diagnostics using Service ADVISOR™ Remote and Remote Display Access (RDA)
  • Quickly and accurately communicate summaries of actionable recommendations
  • Create and maintain work orders with remote diagnostic segments
  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge of engine, hydraulics, and electrical systems and repair manual schematics
  • Maintains a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • May participate in Factory Certified Capstone Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Operates and demonstrates the latest John Deere equipment and Precision Technology 
  • Assists customers and employees with Precision Technology troubleshooting on Farm and remotely
  • Coordinates the execution of the dealership’s John Deere Precision Technology strategy 
  • Assists in leading the organization in the area of John Deere precision farming products 
  • Ensures understanding of John Deere Precision Technology solutions in Sales, Service, Parts, and all other departments 
  • Implements the adoption of modern technology and product offerings 
  • Develops and delivers employee and customer training for John Deere Precision Technology solutions and advanced precision farming products 
  • Provides solutions-based business consulting services to customers (i.e., advising customers on optimizing performance, reducing costs, operation efficiencies, etc.) 
  • May also support the dealership efforts with third-party providers (Certified Crop Adviser, Ag Service Provider, etc.) and related John Deere businesses
  • Sets an example in areas of personal character, commitment, organization and operational skills, work habits and company’s Safety
  • Must promote professional appearance demonstrates the ability to interact and cooperate with all customers, company employees and company managers in a professional manner


What we are looking for: 

  • Interested in Agriculture and Technology
  • 2+ years’ experience performing service repairs and diagnostics, specifically mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems; agricultural and turf equipment preferred.
  • Demonstrated outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Experience with basic computer functions.
  • Experience writing and speaking effectively to individuals and groups
  • Experience with the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in off road, construction, lawn, or heavy equipment
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience 
  • Works well in a demanding environment with flexible/non-standard work hours based on the seasonal demand of Agriculture
  • Works well independently and is resourceful in finding solutions
  • Solid organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
  • Willingness and desire to learn about our products and customers continuously
