Position Summary: 

The Integrated Grade Control Product Specialist is responsible for driving sales and demonstrations of grade control and other machine technology components within Honnen Equipment’s defined territory. This individual will be a vital conduit between new equipment sales and customers interested in purchasing or learning more about grade control systems while performing other department duties.

Essential Job Functions:

• This position will be responsible for partnering with the heavy equipment sales force in the assigned stores by coaching, training, and mentoring them on the GPS and machine control product lines.

• Work with TOPCON and their Dealers on existing, new, or experimental products, training and be the primary contact between TOPCON, their Dealers, & Honnen Equipment. 

• Working knowledge of GPS Equipment, Machine Guidance/Grade Control Systems, Surveying, Lasers, Optical Equipment, and other Positioning Equipment lines and associated software as it pertains to the Construction Industry.

  • Works in partnership with Sales      Representative on machine/grade control sale opportunities.
  • Have clear understanding of the      grade control activities and applications that take place on construction      job sites.
  • Develop and maintain      relationships with existing customers and pursue target customers.
  • Demo machines with grade control,      positioning systems, and other technology systems at every possible      opportunity.
  • Assist with technology system      installs, calibration, troubleshooting, and set-up as needed. 
  • Provides local training to Sales      Staff, Technicians, and Customer Support Advisor.
  • Manage communication and      relationship with local grade control dealers.
  • Create customers quotes and      factory orders for grade control systems.
  • Help develop training and      marketing materials for local markets.
  • Organize end user promotions such      as technology field days to gain higher brand recognition.
  • Utilizing Return on Investment      strategies to help close sales.
  • Help manage Machine Control Inventory      to maximize Return on Investment (ROI).

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist with other duties assigned      and directed by corporate management within the framework of Honnen      Equipment’s objectives.

Job Requirements

 KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Able to communicate effectively      and professionally as appropriate for the needs of customers or coworkers.

  • Strong knowledge of construction      equipment technology.
  • Good skills in operating vehicles      and equipment used for demonstration purposes.
  • Strong ability to manage sales      process.
  • Able to maintain a standard      operating Driver’s License.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft      Office and Internet.
  • Basic knowledge of office      machines, including copier, fax and printer.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a      team environment.
  • Able to process work with      accuracy.
  • Able to meet commitments and      deadlines.
  • Able to complete required      documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks      simultaneously.

  • Demonstrates openness to new      procedures, technology and structure.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors or Associates Degree or equivalent      job-related experience (3 years related experience/training).
  • Vocation or technical degree and/or equivalent      work experience or training in grade control.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK SCHEDULE:

Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs., crawl and climb on/under heavy equipment, walk over construction/excavation sites (irregular terrain), stoop, bend, kneel, twist and stand for extended periods of time. Employee must be able to operate a motor vehicle day and night and will be asked to travel long distances with some nights out (estimated 25-50% travel).
