  • Make a point to thank every customer and represent the dealership as a professional Service Technician at all times.
As a Lawn and Garden Mechanic, you will be working in the shop (with occasional work required outside in varying weather conditions) to repair, conduct maintenance, and address any customer concerns or questions regarding lawn and garden equipment.

Job Requirements Include:

  • Experience diagnosing, maintaining and repairing lawn and garden equipment, specifically mowers, and a willingness to expand that knowledge.
  • Basic Service Technician or Mechanic certification preferred.
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Valid, clean driver’s license preferred.
  • Strong communication skill and self-motivated.
Physical Demands

o    Physical Effort: Lawn and Garden Mechanics constantly work on machines in the shop; which requires physical demands on a daily basis. They must be able to move on/under machines to perform repairs and services. They often have to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly without assistance. There will be occasions where small engine technicians must operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes as well. They frequently stand for long periods of time and often kneel, bend, lay on their backs, etc. to perform repairs, services, and/or maintenance.

o    Working Conditions: Lawn and Garden Mechanics are constantly working in the repair shop to perform their tasks and duties. Work is performed on even surfaces on a hard floor in the shop. There is exposure to dirt, grease, fumes, cuts, bruises, strains, loud noises, etc. To combat these potential dangers and risk hazards, Small Engine Technicians must follow strict safety procedures, proper equipment safety, and PPE.

o    Travel: Little to none.

Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality is vital. Must attend work regularly and to arrive at work on time. Failure to do so detrimentally affects team morale and productivity.

As our ideal candidate, you'll take responsibility to safely execute the work while demonstrating excellent attention to detail. You are a fast learner, with superb communication skills and a dedication to delivering quality work. Further, you have the ability to collaborate and build relationships with coworkers, customers, and vendors, with excellent interpersonal skills.

Above all, you'll be a reliable and friendly team player who has a natural aptitude for problem-solving and is eager to contribute to an established, growing company!
