Job Summary
The Internal Field Auditor at Tellus Equipment Solutions, LLC. will be responsible for performing integrated audits to assess adequacy and efficiency of internal control systems ensuring inventory is properly accounted for with accurate customer and salesman information, equipment status, and machine details within lot location. This position will also perform other documentation compliance audits as assigned, to include sample-selected credit file reviews. Reports to and receives operational direction from the Controller.
Job Description
• Serve as point of contact for external and internal inventory audits preparing documentation by recording information, records, conditions and/or findings on a prescribed format or report
• Working with the Controller, perform a risk-based assessment approach to designing standard and specialized audit programs
• Schedule and complete 100% of equipment and select parts audits at every location at least annually
• Develop and manage the post-audit report issuance process of follow-up on open items on the Final Reconciliation, Not On Hand, and Sold Pre-Sold Reports
• Refer unusual or questionable transactions, or when problems are encountered that do not fall within established guidelines, to appropriate stakeholders
• Ensure demo, display, invoice, sold equipment, and rental paperwork is complete and available for Internal Audit (CDK), John Deere Financial Audit (JDSET), or third-party financial institution
• Monitor and review inventory movements (transfers) to ensure statuses are reflected correctly
• Verify equipment data across the various systems are accurate (to include Integrated Solutions) within DealerPath, JDSET, CDK, and the shared network folder
• Verify accuracy of information used in select accounting transactions such as researching incorrect information, determining the proper accounting treatment, and recommending corrections to the transaction originator
• Coordinate and liaise with broader departments and Store Managers confirming inventory accuracy, status, and that sold items are settled within five days of delivery
• Perform inventory parts counts across all store locations throughout the year and coordinate with store managers on exception reporting, action, and resolution
• Serve as business liaison with the John Deere Collateral Manager Administrator on physical address and dealer contact updates
• Perform sample credit file audits to determine that all required documentation is present and properly executed
