JOB DESCRIPTION
          Works with John Deere Training Organization and our other Manufacturing partners to deliver certified classes in the equipment we represent. Trains dealer personnel and Customers in their respective areas of responsibilities to ensure value is delivered to all participants. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: May include some or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.



  • Become properly certified by John Deere or other Manufactures before delivery of any training course

  • Organize on site logistics of all training courses including needed equipment, training material/aids, shop and classroom and other misc. items prior to class start time

  • Deliver training courses to attendees as outlined in the Leaders Guide

  • Deliver certified classes at the same level of instructional quality, content, infrastructure, and safety as courses instructed by the John Deere and other represented Partner Manufacturers’ training organizations.

  • Report results of the training event and roster to John Deere training department

  • Tear-down the class to return learning environment to its original state

  • Responsible for ensuring that all students attend the class for the full duration

  • Stay current on new products and technology while regionalizing material to audience

  • Coordinates and schedules C&F Division technician training

  • May participate in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge

  • Operates and maintains vehicles, tools and equipment required to perform job responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion

  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments

  • Aid in the Technical Assistance of Flint Technicians by Phone or in the field when necessary. 

  • Perform Customer Machine Maintenance and basic Service Training when appropriate. 

  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products



 
QUALIFICATIONS  Competencies, technical skills, formal education, and relevant work experience critical for successful individual performance of essential functions. Formal education or training required to perform essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.



  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.

  • Minimum of 5 years related Equipment experience performing service repairs; demonstrating experience and    consistently meeting performance metrics is preferred. 

  • Employment experience with Mechanical, Electrical, and Hydraulic Systems used in off road, construction, lawn, and /or heavy equipment.

  • Employment Experience operating vehicles, tools, and equipment for training purposes.

  • Employed as a Dealer Heavy Equipment, Forestry, and /or Diesel Engine Manufacturer Service Technician.

  • Created / Developed Technical Service Technician Training Curriculum and Schedules. 

  • Experience with Basic Computer functions needed for training; Experience with Service ADVISOR or a computer based Diagnostic Tool required. 



 
Relevant work experiences:
Type and amount of experience necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. May include specific roles and/or an understanding of a particular function, organization, and industry or product line.



  • Experience working cooperatively with in a team environment

  • Experience communicating verbally and in writing. 

  • High School Diploma. GED, or Equivalent experience required. Associates Degree Preferred

  • Valid Drivers license Required; CDL Preferred. 

  • Knowledge of appropriate industry (Performs more complex functions, understands principles, may teach others).

  • Customer support experience with customer interaction regarding products, parts, and services (3-5 years).

  • Technical experience relating to diagnostics of mechanical/electrical/hydraulic systems of John Deere (3-5 years).



 
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
