Job Description



Summary

The Integrated Grade Control Sales Specialist is responsible for driving sales and demonstrations of grade control and other machine technology components within Murphy Tractor & Equipment Co., Inc.’s defined territory.   This individual will be the main conduit between new equipment sales and customers interested in purchasing or learning more about grade control systems and perform other department duties as directed by the Regional Sales Manager.



 

Essential Functions

  • Works in partnership with Sales Representative on machine/grade control sale opportunities.
  • Have clear understanding of the grade control activities and applications that take place on construction job sites.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers and pursue target customers.
  • Demo machines with grade control at every possible opportunity.
  • Provides local training to Sales Staff and Customer Support Advisor.
  • Manage communication and relationship with local grade control dealers.
  • Create customers quotes and factory orders for grade control systems.
  • Help develop training and marketing materials for local markets.
  • Organize end user promotions such as technology field days to gain higher brand recognition.
  • Utilizing Return on Investment strategies to help close sales.



Other Functions

  • Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the frame work of Murphy Tractor and Equipment Company, Inc.’s objectives.

  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally as appropriate for the needs of customers or coworkers.
  • Strong focus on customer service.
  • Strong knowledge of Telematics Solutions, Department Operations and construction equipment technology.
  • Good skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for demonstration purposes.
  • Strong ability to manage sales.
  • Able to maintain a standard operating Driver’s License.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet.
  • Basic knowledge of office machines, including copier, fax and printer.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to process work with accuracy.
  • Able to meet commitments and deadlines.
  • Able to complete required documentation and reports in a timely manner.
  • Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule as needed.
  • Able to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints.
  • Demonstrates openness to new procedures, technology and structure.



Physical Requirements and Work Schedule

Employee must be able to do occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs., crawl and climb on/under heavy equipment, walk over construction/excavation sites (irregular terrain), stoop, bend, kneel, twist and stand for extended periods of time.  Employee must be able to operate a motor vehicle day and night and will be asked to travel long distances with some nights out (estimated 65% travel).



 

Education/Work Experience

High school diploma or GED required.  Four year degree from a college or school or at least three years related experience and/or training preferred.  Vocation or technical degree and/or equivalent work experience or training in grade control.
