Job Title: IGC App Specialist

Reports To: Division Manager – Positioning Solutions

Department: Sales (20), Exempt

Location: Atlanta


Summary of Primary Functions

This position is responsible for driving sales and demonstrations of grade control and other machine technology components within Dobbs Equipment defined territory. This position is also responsible for installation, training, and support of various types of grade control equipment and other machine technology components. This individual will manage all pre and post support required for a successful implementation of the product and is instrumental in the success & growth of the grade control business. They will help Dobbs Equipment succeed by gaining new customers and promoting repeat business by consistently providing high quality installations, service, and repairs. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (Other duties may be assigned)

  • Works in conjunction with TM or PSTR on machine/grade control opportunities
  • Have clear understanding of the activities and applications that take place on construction jobsites
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing customers and pursue target customers
  • Manage communication and relationship with local grade control dealer
  • Create customers quotes and factory orders for grade control systems
  • Help develop training and marketing materials for local markets
  • Organize end user promotions such as technology field days to gain higher brand recognition
  • Utilizing Return on Investment strategies to help close sales
  • Demo machines with grade control when needed
  • Technical Point person for training Sales staff and PSTR’s
  • Install, inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair grade control and machine technology systems
  • Conduct instructor-led and live webinar training programs on grade control use in multiple applications
  • Create 3D models or work with 3rd party model providers of jobsites and load into grade control devices
  • Set-up base and rovers for jobsites
  • Participates in cross-functional and cross-divisional communication and teams to identify and leverage solutions and resources.
  • Develops relationships with key company personnel, channel partners and customers to acquire market share and customer satisfaction targets.

  •  Qualifications: Competencies, technical skills, formal education, and relevant work experience critical for successful individual performance of essential functions.

  • Valid Drivers License
  • Sales experience
  • Machine Technology experience
  • Technical Skills & Knowledge: Specialized skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Demonstrated sales and marketing skills. 
  • Willingness to travel. (Up to 50%)
  • Knowledge of appropriate industry (Performs more complex functions, understands principles)
  • Knowledge of products and services offered by the appropriate area of responsibility. 
  • Knowledge of products, customers, markets, and competitors. 
  • Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Education: Formal education or training required to perform the essential functions of the job. Includes degrees, certifications, licenses and/or registration requirements.

  • Degree in an Engineering/Technology/Marketing discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Degree in an Agricultural Sciences discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years related Equipment experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Physical Demands:

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Capable of lifting and carrying object weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Able to crawl and climb on/under heavy equipment
  • Walk over construction/excavation sites (irregular terrain)
  • Stoop, bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to operate a motor vehicle day and night
  • Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
