Job Description

John Deere Construction Equipment Dealership with multiple locations serving Southern California, Nevada and Idaho is looking for a Human Resources Manager who will oversee all Coastline locations.

Title: Human Resources Manager

Reports to: Vice President / General Manager, Vice President-HR

Supervises: HR Generalists


Manages the development, implementation and coordination of all personnel related policies and procedures.  Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, and local employment laws.  Assists the business in achieving goals through productive and engaged employees.  Attracts and retains talent and effectively engages department personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops employee policies and procedures for the organization and informs managers and employees on the adherence to the policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
  • Serves as a member of the management team by assisting in the development and implementation of the strategic plan. 
  • Develops and implements employee engagement programs.
  • Assists with the management of the compensation and benefit process for the organization.
  • Manages the recruiting efforts for the organization including building relationships with local schools, training managers to perform interviews, assisting with candidate selection processes, and streamlining processes.
  • Assists with the performance management processes for the company.
  • Oversees the administration of training and employee learning & development activities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Human Resources activities, with at least five years as a manager dealing with issues such as compensation and benefits, staffing, employee development, training, and legal compliance, etc.
  • Professional in Human Resource (PHR) certification preferred.
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office, internet functions, and HRIS programs.
  • Expert knowledge of employment laws, policies, and regulations.  
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups.
  • Degree in Human Resources/Business Management preferred, or equivalent experience required.
