Job Summary 

Serves as the day to day HR Generalist for employees and managers of Van Wall equipment.  Partners with the Chief Human Resources Officer and Manager, Talent Acquisition & Strategy on process improvements and other impactful change initiatives to help advance the business.   

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Plays a key role in owning various stages of the employee experience including:

-Facilitates the onboarding process for new employees including assisting with new hire orientation and pre-hire screening

  • Serves as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns about process, policy, procedure, and benefits
  • Assists with new hire and annual performance management initiatives
  • Partners with other resources internally on employee culture and engagement 
  • Provides ongoing HRIS maintenance and support for employees and managers
  • Maintains employee personnel files and records
  • Manages worker’s compensation claims in cooperation with our carriers
  • Partners with other team members on the offboarding of employees including participation in exit discussions
  • Assist the talent acquisition team as needed with candidate outreach events such as career fairs and speaking opportunities
  • Evaluates and escalates employee concerns requiring additional intervention from CHRO where applicable
  • Manages the intake, evaluation, and response of unemployment claims
  • Partners with the CHRO on KPI tracking and insights
  • Assists with department led communications to managers and employees
  • Responds to verification of employment requests
  • Assists with training of managers and employees
  • Other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time

    Position Qualifications 

  • A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, highly preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Coordinator or Administrator with a broad knowledge base in Human Resources that spans benefits, HR best practices/processes, compliance, employee relations, talent acquisition, and payroll.  
  • Professional certification in Human Resources is highly preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • High degree of accountability and a track record of completing assignment accurately, completely, and timely
  • Must be an effective communicator, orally and in writing, with the confidence to engage with employees at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent customer orientation with a consultative approach to meeting customer needs in an HR capacity
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of empathy and the utmost level of integrity
  • Willingness to participate in projects and initiatives that will challenge thinking and expand one’s knowledge base
  • Must be consistent, reliable, and team oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven success in relationship building
  • Past experience working with MS Office, Google Suite applications, and HRIS systems (preferably Paycom) 
  • Must be innovative with a mindset of continuous improvement broadly and individually
  • Must exemplify the values of the company
