Job Summary
Serves as the day to day HR Generalist for employees and managers of Van Wall equipment. Partners with the Chief Human Resources Officer and Manager, Talent Acquisition & Strategy on process improvements and other impactful change initiatives to help advance the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Plays a key role in owning various stages of the employee experience including:
-Facilitates the onboarding process for new employees including assisting with new hire orientation and pre-hire screening
Serves as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns about process, policy, procedure, and benefitsAssists with new hire and annual performance management initiativesPartners with other resources internally on employee culture and engagement Provides ongoing HRIS maintenance and support for employees and managersMaintains employee personnel files and recordsManages worker’s compensation claims in cooperation with our carriersPartners with other team members on the offboarding of employees including participation in exit discussionsAssist the talent acquisition team as needed with candidate outreach events such as career fairs and speaking opportunitiesEvaluates and escalates employee concerns requiring additional intervention from CHRO where applicableManages the intake, evaluation, and response of unemployment claimsPartners with the CHRO on KPI tracking and insightsAssists with department led communications to managers and employeesResponds to verification of employment requestsAssists with training of managers and employeesOther duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time
Position Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, highly preferredMinimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Coordinator or Administrator with a broad knowledge base in Human Resources that spans benefits, HR best practices/processes, compliance, employee relations, talent acquisition, and payroll. Professional certification in Human Resources is highly preferredExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsHigh degree of accountability and a track record of completing assignment accurately, completely, and timelyMust be an effective communicator, orally and in writing, with the confidence to engage with employees at all levels of the organizationExcellent customer orientation with a consultative approach to meeting customer needs in an HR capacityMust demonstrate a high degree of empathy and the utmost level of integrityWillingness to participate in projects and initiatives that will challenge thinking and expand one’s knowledge baseMust be consistent, reliable, and team orientedExcellent interpersonal skills and proven success in relationship buildingPast experience working with MS Office, Google Suite applications, and HRIS systems (preferably Paycom) Must be innovative with a mindset of continuous improvement broadly and individuallyMust exemplify the values of the company
