General Summary and Essential functions

General Summary:

Partners with Store and department managers to enhance the employee experience by developing short and long-term talent acquisition strategies, providing leadership and management development, supporting leaders throughout the employee performance cycle, and reviewing, revising and creating HR processes that help the business run smoothly.

Essential Functions:

  • Develops, implements, and reviews PLP’s talent acquisition program that aligns with PLP’s key strategies
  • Assists the Training Manager in developing HR-related training programs for PLP Managers
  • Creates, revises, and maintains PLP’s Job Descriptions.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of employee performance management programs
  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Insures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Performs exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management; or a related field or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources or related field
  • PHR, SPHR, and/or SHRM certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • A current driver’s license is required and must be maintained for this position


Regular travel to PLP locations is required for this position
