Job Description

Department:  Sales

Reports to:    Location/Sales Manager

Supervises:   None


Purpose:

Sell new and used Small Ag, Turf, Utility, and CWP equipment in a professional, profitable manner. Build/grow and maintain strong customer relationships and monitor those relationships throughout customer interface with all departments. Grow the sales base and add to the growth and profitability of SEMA Equipment, Inc.


Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with customers to sell them Turf, Utility, and CWP equipment.
  • Maintain the most current product knowledge on all equipment, parts, and service available to customers
  • Understand and communicate to customers the most current financing and risk management options to assist customers in securing the purchase of new and used goods
  • Know and follow the company’s defined sales process.
  • Monitor and communicate timely competitive/competitors activity to management
  • Develop, build, enhance and maintain relationships between the company and our customers
  • Assists customers in optimizing their equipment and ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.
  • Grow professional abilities through applicable sales training events/seminars
  • Maintain any assigned company equipment (i.e. computer, phone)
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trade in purposes
  • Answers incoming phone calls
  • Other duties as assigned by management


Job Requirements

  • 1+ years equipment sales experience
  • Knowledge of agricultural or turf equipment and farming or operational practices preferred
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
  • Ability to lift 50 – 60 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to lift 75 – 100 pounds on a regular basis
  • Candidate must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist and reach on a frequent basis
  • Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and clean MVR record
  • Candidate must become forklift certified within 30 days of employment
  • Basic data entry/keyboarding skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs
  • High School Diploma or equivalent work experience
