Position Summary:

This individual will develop long-term partnerships with customers to build solutions within an assigned territory while promoting all aspects of the company in a professional manner. Account management is a strategic selling style in which the individual account manager facilitates a relationship based on value of products, services and resources which in turn enhance profitability for the customer and the company.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Serves as the primary consulting resource with primary accountability for company’s customer relationships within assigned territory
  • Directs a strategy within assigned territory to identify key accounts within that area and then executes a plan to acquire those customers to include personally developing accounts, as well as being involved in any and all sales, parts and service team efforts
  • Consults, builds, develops, delivers and implements customer overall strategic plan
  • Contribute directly to the proposal process, winning the sale, volume, territory awareness, participation, and overall customer satisfaction
  • Proactively supports and communicates the individual customer account 'vision' throughout the company
  • Coordinates and facilitates other company employees, departments, locations and internal and external product/service experts
  • Use company provided systems/tools to fully document, track, record, follow-up and capture all related sales activity in a timely and accurate manner; maintains a manageable strategic key customer list, while focusing on marketing/selling the entire company
  • Effectively understands and uses manufacturers’ programs and resources to attain acceptable market share levels
  • Develop a keen awareness of the competition and competitive products, as well as business and industry trends
  • Maintain strong knowledge of used equipment values and be able to evaluate properly for trading purposes
  • Work in conjunction with sales, parts and service departments, responsible for follow-up and expediting of whole good orders and services
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook
  • Conduct self in the presence of customers and community so as to present a professional image at all times
  • Proactively seek and participate in available company-sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set
  • Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including sales and marketing meetings, department meetings and other related efforts
  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner


  • Prior sales experience and/or training
  • Strong understanding of market/industry conditions
  • Knowledge of resale values of particular machinery
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills
