Job Description

This Creative Operations Manager (COM) is a workflow optimization specialist. They ensure that all work from the account service team flows efficiently to the creative project teams, then back to the account team to manage stakeholder approvals – from initial scoping and concept development through to final production and delivery. This position optimizes timely communication between all marketing team members to maximize collaboration, minimize unhealthy stress, and produce consistently stellar outcomes.

A COM’s job centers around three primary areas of responsibility:

1. Managing Process & Workflow

The COM’s job is to develop, manage, and evolve an efficient workflow system that ensures the best possible
inputs lead to the best quality outcomes, on time and on budget, with as little choas or drama as possible.
This includes the policing of process tools like briefing documents and timely, efficient briefing meetings
with allocated teams. An effective COM is always looking for ways to perpetually improve process.

2. Maximizing Resources

The COM uses our Creative Allocation System to ensure that the right people are working on the right
projects, and collaborates with Creative Managers to match specialized skills with project requirements. to
resolve potential bottlenecks and optimize individual workloads. This Manager needs to be included in initial
project scoping efforts to stay ahead of demands, using a proactive approach rather than a reactive one.

3. Managing Traffic

A big part of the COM’s job is to make sure the creative team spends more time creating and less time
stressing about inadequate inputs, or how to manage impossible demands. The COM is the gate-keeper for
good process and a master at scheduling tasks that minimize stress for all team members while still meeting
established timelines. When choke-points happen, this Manager acts as chief negotiator, peacekeeper and
traffic cop to resolve conflicts with minimal drama. This Manager acts as the liason between AMs and CMs to
re-assign work or reschedule timelines as required.
The COM typically conducts a daily status check-in every morning to ensure ongoing tasks are on track, to
identify potential bottlenecks and resolve them as required. This
