Job Description

Purpose:
Manage the accounting and controller functions of the Finch Companies and provide financial reporting of all activities.  Responsible for providing accurate and timely information to the owner and management for decision-making purposes.   Maintain the highest degree of confidentiality of information.

Job Responsibilities:

Accounting and Finance

  • Monitor and manage the cash needs of all entities.
  • Meet with the owners and other members of management periodically to provide financial reports and necessary relevant information and analysis to provide input and recommendation on accounting and financial matters.
  • Analyze budget reports for each department and periodically discuss with appropriate Managers. Fine tune monthly budget reporting process to maximize its value to the goals and objectives of the Company.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process to ensure that overall Company goals and objectives are met.
  • Establish and maintain good banking relations and monitor debt and idle cash for investment to obtain maximum rate of return.
  • Prepare timely, monthly financial statements and reports for company management and external parties.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and laws.
  • Oversee all accounting area systems including IntelliDealer (CDK), fixed assets (Pro-Ware), Quick Books and others.


Team Management

  • Supervise all accounting staff providing oversight to ensure timely and accurate processing of accounting information.
  • Ensure proper efficiencies and operations of areas under management.
  • Develop staff for future needs of the company and for individual development.
  • Perform all HR functions for staff including annual performance reviews, periodic counseling, hiring, and any needed disciplinary actions.


Other Duties

  • Keep tax and insurance records up to date and coordinate with insurance and tax professionals
  • Coordinate payroll and benefits matters with HR department including payroll processing and 401K requirements.
  • Oversee preparation of all required tax filings for all entities.
  • Communicate, interact and engage with all relevant internal and external parties on an active basis.
  • Maintain department software and technology to obtain maximum efficiency and performance including periodic evaluations for improvements or upgrades.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Accounting and five (5) years’ experience in related field.  CPA preferred.
  • Experience in a Sr. Accounting Role with a dealership desired.
  • Experience with large ERP system or comparable.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing an accounting department.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficient.

  • Sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
  • Answering and holding the telephone.
