Territory Sales Representative- Coastline Equipment

A Territory Sales Representative for Coastline Equipment. Coastline Equipment is a distributor of John Deere Compact Equipment and Bomag Compaction Equipment. The Outside Sales Representative will be responsible for the sales of new and used Deere product, attachments, and the promotion of the overall business strategies of the company to new and existing customers in the greater Orange County area. This individual will need to be motivated and committed to meeting customer’s needs, growing market share, maintaining established levels of gross profit and exceeding unit sales targets.

Territory: Las Vegas, NV

  • Represents the company for the sale of machinery to customers in a defined sales area.
  • Maintains current product knowledge on features and benefits of all equipment with potential for sale by the dealership.
  • Monitors competitive activity/products and timely communicates to management, accordingly.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Strong selling, prospecting, cold calling and presentation skills required to successfully achieve sales quotas and targets.
  • Maintains sales management information for all customers in the assigned territory and weekly call reports.
  • Manage market awareness and providing calls and lost sales reports.
  • Manage designated territory and customers to maximize our presence on equipment purchases.
  • Maintains assigned company vehicles and towing equipment.
  • Conducts new equipment field demonstrations.
  • Monitors trends in customer’s business activities and timely communicates to management.
  • Maintains current knowledge of used equipment values and ability to evaluate properly for trading purposes.
  • Maintains current knowledge of financing options to assist customers with securing the purchase of new and used goods.
  • Attends applicable sales training events/seminars.
  • Uses any and all sales related software programs.
  • Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintains and updates customer prospect list for territories on an ongoing basis.
  • Completes all required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Creates and maintains an annual forecast plan to maximize market share in responsible territories.
  • Perform any and all other requests deemed necessary that will promote and grow the business for Coastline Equipment.


  • 1-2 years construction equipment sales experience preferred
  • Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet functions
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Excellent customer relationship skills
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to analyze and interpret basic sales reports
  • Professional appearance

The Territory Sales Representative is responsible for the sales and leasing of all new and used John Deere and other heavy equipment in an assigned territory that will consist of Construction Worksite Products. This individual will need to be motivated and required to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations while ensuring market share growth, increasing sales revenue and gross profit margins.


Maintain relationships with current customers and establish relationships with new customers/prospects to enhance the potential to sell and lease new and used equipment. Based on customer needs, formulate value selling based presentations. Quote and negotiate prices and financing, prepare contracts and record and close orders. The qualified candidate must be able to communicate well with team members, department managers and co-workers within the company to ensure a consistent, predictable and repeatable experience for customers. Performs all sales functions and takes ownership of the transaction throughout the process.

Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures and standards.
Ability to comprehend, capture and interpret customer and equipment information.
Excellent computer skills, proficient use of Microsoft Office applications, customer relationship management, and work management software.
Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills utilizing professional written and verbal communication.

Excellent planning, organizing, leadership and interpersonal relationship building. Must be an excellent collaborator, listener, and team player working well between all departments.
Travel requirement to attend applicable sales training events, seminars and trade shows.
Work well under pressure with ability to set and manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands of the work environment.

  • Controls expenses incurred while on company business.
  • Completes and submits appropriate reports in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively and safely operate all equipment assigned.
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
  • Ability to work flexible hours as necessary to accommodate customer’s needs.
  • Submit periodic reports detailing lost sales activities and evaluate the results of such lost sales and communicate resolution to correct.
  • Promotes and manages marketing campaigns designed to drive business into assigned and or other areas.
  • Perform any and all other duties deemed necessary that will promote and grow the business.


High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Associates degree in Business or related discipline preferred.
Previous sales or customer service experience required.
Familiar with the use of heavy equipment in a comparable industry experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record is required.
Must be able to communicate in English (speak, read, comprehend and write) bilingual in Spanish preferred but not mandatory.


Must be able to sit for long periods of time along with walking, standing, climbing stairs, reaching, pushing, pulling, leaning and twisting (and to get in and out of equipment safely).
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds as required.
