Purpose:
This position is responsible for the sales, rentals and relationships with key customer accounts. To represent those customer segments for the compact construction line that have a significant impact on the dealer-business but develop and maintain relationships with the dealership enterprise through a trusted advisor. Responsibilities include sales, customer support, technical support, planning and key customer account business operational optimization.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage key customer account relationships to provide a differentiated customer experience.
- Proactively assess, clarify, validate and communicate key customer account needs on an ongoing basis.
- Provide value to key customer accounts by developing solutions that save time, reduce risk and increase profits.
- Develop a contact plan that meet the individual needs of your key customer accounts.
- Meet sales volume and sales objectives on assigned key customer accounts.
- Influence customer account trade cycles and current and future needs.
- Update and retain relevant customer account information such as equipment and operational information in the customer relationship management system
- Engage with dealership personnel (AMS Consultant, Parts, Service, Integrated Solutions Manager, etc.) when needed in completing a sale, answering customer account questions and ensuring customer account needs are met.
- Represent company in the sale of equipment, parts, labor, and technology-based products and services to assigned customer accounts.
- Maintain current product knowledge of all equipment, parts, and services available to customer accounts.
- Maintain current knowledge of financing and risk management options to assist customer accounts with securing the purchase of a solution.
- Maintain and communicate current knowledge of customer account operational requirements, both agronomic / turf industry and / or business goals.
- Monitor and timely communicate any competitive activity to management.
- Coordinate new equipment field demonstrations.
- Coordinate dealer enterprise team, along with Integrated Solutions Manager, to manage and deliver the highest levels of value to key customer accounts.
- Actively participate in local and regional industry associations.
- Attend applicable sales training events and seminars.
- Maintain assigned company vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments.
- Other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions Office:

- Travel to locations up to 50% of the time.
Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
- Must possess customer first attitude and strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- 5+ years equipment sales experience
- Extensive knowledge of John Deere and competitive equipment as well as technology trends/advancements
- Business, financial and logistical management knowledge
- Knowledge of relevant agronomic practices and trends
- Knowledge of key customer account agronomic operations
- Ability to read, write and speak effectively and respectfully
- Ability to use software applications including Microsoft Office and internet functions
- Basic data entry, keyboard typing and computer skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting practices
- Available to work flexible hours and weekends as required
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Possess a valid California driver’s license and a clean driving record
