The Bookkeeper is a general position working closely with our Accounting team to completes a variety of tasks. Some of the tasks may be related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales processing account reconciliation and other general accounting duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Reviews, codes, and posts all invoices and expenses for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Ensure invoices are accurate.
• Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
• Mails authorized checks for release.
• Answers all vendor inquiries.
• Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets, and corporate accounts payable files.
• Prepare weekly cash requirement report.
• Follow-up on vendor credit balances to be applied or refunded.
• Follow up with vendors on discrepancies.
• Reconcile vendor statements each month and assists in monthly closings.
• Maintains A/P filing
• Distributes invoices as needed for proper processing and verify proper approval.
• Prepare and process checks or online payments.
• Accounts receivable statement processing
• Review and apply customer credits
• Daily bank deposit
• Assist with maintaining customer tax forms for compliance with sales tax regulations
• Assist with maintaining vendor tax forms for compliance with 1099 requirements
• Assist with customer sales processing in a timely manner
• Other accounting duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, EDUCATION

• Associates Degree in accounting/finance required.
• May substitute relevant experience for education requirement with proven bookkeeping experience
• Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and A/P and A/R principles
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and internet
