If you answered yes to these questions, we want to hear from you! Pape Machinery, the premier capital equipment dealer in the West, is adding to their Parts team in Newark, CA.

As the Back Counter Sales Counterperson, you will assist the Service Department and be the go-to person when they are needing parts for repairs on equipment. Every day you will locate and price parts, build your parts knowledge base, and ensure the Service Department gets all the parts support they need. To thrive in this role, you must be excellent at maintaining relationships, be detail-oriented, and enjoy working on a winning team.


  • Working closely with Service Department to ensure a high level of parts support is being delivered.
  • Researching, sourcing, and pricing parts for service repairs.
  • Determining parts needs through the use of literature, computer programs, and parts knowledge.
  • Pulling parts and staging for Field Technicians.
  • Maintaining knowledge of products, services, and parts and the associated costs of each.
  • Completing all necessary paperwork on each transaction in an accurate timely manner.
  • Providing relief as needed for front counter parts members. This includes (but is not limited to) responding to customers in person or by telephone whenever required and providing quotes or estimates for parts.
  • Processing credits, making adjustments, and monitoring for restocking charges on all parts sales completed.
  • Performing shipping/receiving and warehouse duties as assigned.


  • Self-motivated and assertive drive.
  • Ability to perform at a high level in a fast pace and team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers by telephone and in person, in an effort to sell company parts and other services.
  • Knowledge of parts inventory preferred.
  • Above-average organizational skills.
  • Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts. (Training is available)

Starting Compensation: $19-$35/hr (Depending on Experience)
