Department: Service
Reports to: Service Manager
Supervises: N/A
Purpose: Works closely with the service manager to help manage service operations within the dealership to maximize return on investment by improving processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, growing profitable service labor sales, exercising disciplined expense control, attracting and retaining outstanding talent and effectively engaging department personnel.

o Works with service manager and service writer every morning to ensure that tech time recording from previous day is correct
o Works service manager and service writer to ensure that techs are completing paper work and descriptions correctly and allowing us to maximize our billing potential by justifying labor charges
o Works with service manager, service writer, and techs to ensure that pips are completed in a timely manner and to the detail indicated in directions and DTAC solutions
o Helps line up and schedule work so there is always work in front of techs o Helps techs to diagnose equipment problems when necessary, and help new techs learn how to complete repairs and guide their work processes
o Works with service manager to contact customers and get their approval whenever there is something that was not anticipated discovered during a repair
o Takes customer calls and work with service manager and writer to schedule repairs and quote repair prices
o Responsible for quality of work in service and setup departments, inspects and approves all completed repairs and setup
o Must learn and be able to perform all of the duties that the service manager performs to provide back-up in the absence of the service manager
o Responsible for ensuring that techs perform work in a safe manner and the shop is maintained in a safe and serviceable manner

Experience, Education, Skills and Knowledge:
o Minimum 3 years experience in Service Department operations.
o Ability to use standard desktop load applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions.
o Ability to speak effectively one-on-one and within a group.
o Basic understanding of financial principles relative to Service Department operations.
o High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
o Familiar with John Deere and competitive products.
o Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports.
