American Implement is seeking an outgoing, organized professional with a solid background in Agronomy and Precision Ag Technology to fill our New Opening: Agronomic Development Specialist                                            

This position will be located at our AI Support Center in Garden City, KS.

JOB SUMMARY:

This full-time position (45+ hrs/week) is based out of our AI Support Center in Garden City, KS. It provides expertise at the dealership surrounding crop production systems; helps build credibility with customers and enables the dealership to participate in the development of comprehensive solutions for customers; and coordinates as a lead in training, field trials and demonstrations for dealership personnel and customer services. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Annual base salary of $85,000-$100,000 depending on experience, plus eligible for annual discretionary bonus and company vehicle. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develops and delivers employee and customer training for John Deere data/technology solutions and advanced precision farming practices.
  • Assists in leading the organization in the area of John Deere and 3rd party precision agricultural products.
  • Coordinates execution of the dealerships John Deere strategy (Machine and Logistics Optimization, and Ag Decision Support/Service).
  • Design and coordinate training presentations and offerings to dealership employees and customers.
  • Collecting data on trainings, field trials, demonstrations and providing supportive impacts of these for our targeted area of business.
  • Remains current with John Deere Precision Agricultural product line, production practices, latest trends, and changes in regulations. Serves as the central point in the business to manage complexity and improve efficiency.
  • Provides leadership across the organization for agronomic knowledge.
  • Promotes understanding across the dealership of the latest production practices and their overall agronomic impact, including crop production systems, regulations and production data layers and key attributes, etc.
  • Help support and promote dealership personnel understanding on machine, equipment, and documented data analysis, as well as utilization of John Deere Operation Center.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 3 - 5+ years’ experience in Agronomy and Precision Agricultural Technology.
  • Certified Crop Adviser Certification is preferred.
  • Dealership sales, service, training, or other related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to think strategically, operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer needs.
  • Proficient knowledge of Integrated Solutions, Data Management (IT) and wireless communication systems.
  • Ability to use standard desktop applications such as Microsoft Office and Internet functions.
  • Solid organizational, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to operate with a solutions approach and identify existing/emerging customer’s needs.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to store/customer locations within seasonal peak times.
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching overhead. Must be able to regularly lift up to 75 lbs. without assistance. Position also requires grasping with both hands, pushing and pulling, working around moving machinery, driving a vehicle, extensive hours on a computer, hearing normal tones, speaking, and seeing.
